Ele é resfriado a uma temperatura inferior a -78ºC, e ao entrar em contato com a pressão atmosférica é aquecido e torna-se um gás de dióxido de carbono. &lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;Esse processo é conhecido por Sublimação e consiste na passagem de um sólido ao estado de vapor sem antes passar pelo estado líquido, ou seja, à medida que o gelo-seco é aquecido, ele se transforma diretamente em dióxido de carbono gasoso e não em líquido. &lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;Quando o ar quente (ou água) passa sobre o gelo-seco, forma-se uma densa nuvem branca, que permanece ao nível do chão, produzindo o efeito especial usado no cinema. Mas não é só para esse fim que o dióxido de carbono sólido é usado, a temperatura extremamente gelada e a característica da sublimação fazem do gelo-seco uma excelente opção para refrigeração. Por exemplo, se você precisar fazer uma longa viagem com um produto congelado, você pode revesti-lo com gelo-seco. O produto estará congelado quando chegar ao destino e com a vantagem de que nada estará molhado, diferentemente do que aconteceria se fosse usado gelo normal. &lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;Mas como é produzido o dióxido de carbono congelado? Para se fazer gelo-seco é preciso começar com um recipiente de alta pressão cheio de dióxido de carbono líquido. Quando se libera o dióxido de carbono líquido do tanque, a expansão do líquido e a alta velocidade de evaporação do dióxido de carbono gasoso esfriam o restante do líquido ao ponto de congelamento, no qual ele se transforma diretamente em sólido. &lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;Você alguma vez já viu um extintor de incêndio de dióxido de carbono em ação? Como o hidrogênio tende a subir para alta atmosfera e a reagir com o oxigênio,produzindo água, o resultado previsível seria o crescimento da umidadena estratosfera. Os radicais livres são moléculas instáveis, com número ímpar de elétrons (partículas atômicas de carga negativa), que podem desequilibrar as funções celulares. No organismo, milhares de radicais livres, provenientes sobretudo do oxigênio (elemento vital para a transformação dos alimentos em energia) são formados e destruídos a cada minuto. A destruição é operada por antioxidantes naturais (as vitaminas C e E e as enzimas superóxido dismutase e catalase). Assim, mais de 95% do oxigênio absorvido na respiração são transformados em água no interior das células, enquanto os 5% restantes passam por outras etapas antes disso e permanecem sob a forma de radicais livres. A poluição ambiental, os maus hábitos alimentares, a vida sedentária e a própria idade contribuem para o aumento na produção dos radicais livres, que facilitam o surgimento de doenças e o envelhecimento precoce.Até os 40/45 anos de idade, geralmente o organismo consegue vencer a luta contra os radicais livres, retirando-os da circulação sem grandes dificuldades. Depois, contudo, eles livres tendem a se acumular gradualmente no organismo, contribuindo para o surgimento não só de cabelos brancos como de doenças degenerativas (arterioesclerose e câncer), problemas nas articulações (reumatismo e artrose) e alterações na pele (rugas e manchas senis).Às vezes, os cabelos embranquecem precocemente, em geral quando, além de ter predisposição genética para isso, a pessoa enfrenta problemas particulares graves. São os chamados óculos fotocromáticos, e podem ser um perfeito exemplo do &lt;em&gt;Princípio&lt;/em&gt; de &lt;em&gt;Le Chatelier &lt;/em&gt;em ação.Esse princípio diz que quando um sistema tem seu equilíbrio quebrado, ele se altera para reduzir o efeito do que o pertubou, até voltar a estar equilibrado.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;span style="color:#330000;"&gt;Isso ocorre nesse tipo de óculos porque as lentes fotocromáticas possuem cristais de cloreto de prata (AgCl) imcorporados diretamente no vidro. Agora pergunto: como este grafite sai da borracha?A grafite sai da borracha graças a algumas substancias como enxofre e alguns óleos especiais que compõem a borracha e que têm por função, fazer com que os pedaços “sujos” do grafite se desprendam dela. Existem também as borrachas que apagam canetas, essas borrachas são compostas por pó de pedra-pomes que lixam a pequena camada do papel que absorveu a tinta. Vamos explicar isso mais detalhadamente:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A pipoca é constituída por três elementos, a casca dura externa, e dentro da pipoca, o amido e a umidade (água). Ao colocar o milho da pipoca na panela com óleo quente, a umidade dentro da semente reage transformando em vapor, aumentando assim a pressão interna da semente. A casca por sua vez não aguenta essa pressão interna e estoura. Ao estourar, o amido que fica dentro do milho se expande em pequenas bolhas de cor branca que ficam grudadas com a casca. Em Tupi antigo a palavra Pipoca significa: ‘Pele estourada’.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="color:#000000;"&gt;Desafiando&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;em&gt;1) Fure a casca do milho de pipoca e tente estourá-la. O milho de pipoca não irá estourar porque não haverá pressão interna, pois a umidade interna que é transformada em vapor sai por esse furo.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;2) Se quiser ver o amido dentro da pipoca que tem a cor branca, use um martelo, e você verá que o amido é um pouco úmido. Quando apagamos a luz, deixamos de fornecer energia aos elétrons que aos poucos vão retomando às suas camadas eletrônicas iniciais. Durante esse retorno (que pode durar horas), eles devolvem a energia que absorveram na forma de luz. Diferentemente das substâncias fosforescentes, os compostos fluorescentes deixam de emitir luz assim que são colocados no escuro. Podemos observar a fluorescência quando vamos a uma discoteca. Todo mundo que está de roupas brancas fica "brilhando" no escuro graças às lâmpadas de luz negra, que é uma lâmpada de luz ultravioleta. Quando a luz negra é desligada, o brilho da roupa desaparece. A nossa roupa brilha sob luz negra por causa de um aditivo dos sabões em pó que usamos. Esse aditivo é usado para termos a impressão de que a roupa está "mais branca do que branca", pois ele absorve a radiação UV e emite como uma luz azulada. A química está envolvida desde o cheiro até a reação que provoca em nossos globos oculares, a cebola possui várias substâncias químicas que estimulam nosso olfato, paladar e infelizmente nossos olhos. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;p align="justify"&gt;&lt;span style="color:#666666;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;span style="color:#666666;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;p align="justify"&gt;&lt;span style="color:#666666;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;span style="color:#666666;"&gt;Vamos começar pelo cheiro, qual composto é responsável por aquele cheiro de cebola frita na manteiga? São os óxidos sulfúricos derivados do ácido sulfúrico (H2SO4). Agora para explicar sobre as lágrimas precisamos ir um pouco além. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;p align="justify"&gt;&lt;span style="color:#666666;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;span style="color:#666666;"&gt;Quando realizamos o corte de uma cebola, esta libera enzimas denominadas de alinases, estas por sua vez reagem com o óxido sulfúrico já presente na estrutura da cebola. A reação dá origem ao ácido sulfínico que, por ser pouco estável, acaba se transformando em um gás volátil. O gás obtido na reação ao se volatilizar chega até os olhos provocando uma reação desagradável nos terminais nervosos da córnea, e para se defender estes terminais ativam as glândulas lacrimais, estas por sua vez liberam as lágrimas: a hora do choro!Existem diversas maneiras de prevenir este aborrecimento, um deles é cortar as cebolas utilizando o ventilador. Ligue um ventilador ao seu lado e em direção transversal apontado para a cebola de modo que o gás não chegue aos seus olhos.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;p align="justify"&gt;&lt;span style="color:#666666;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;span style="color:#666666;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;p align="justify"&gt;&lt;span style="color:#666666;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="color:#666666;"&gt;Mas e você ?
